Bromeliaceae, commonly known as the bromeliad family, is a diverse group of monocot flowering plants that includes around 3,475 known species. This family is predominantly found in tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, with some species adapted to temperate climates. Bromeliads are known for their unique and often striking appearance, featuring a wide array of shapes, sizes, and colors.

Bromeliads are characterized by their rosette-shaped arrangement of leaves, which can be stiff and spiny or soft and flexible. Many species possess vibrant, colorful bracts and flowers, which make them popular as ornamental plants. A key feature of bromeliads is their ability to absorb water and nutrients through specialized trichomes on their leaves, allowing them to thrive in various environments, including epiphytic (growing on other plants), terrestrial, and lithophytic (growing on rocks) habitats.

Bromeliaceae plants not only enhance the aesthetics and functionality of frog habitats but also play an integral role in the life cycle and well-being of many frog species.
